Medical Editorial Standards & Review Policy
At Fatloss, our mission is to deliver evidence-based, medically verified metabolic science to help readers optimize body composition and cardiometabolic health. We adhere strictly to the highest standards of medical journalism and scientific scrutiny.
The 4-Step Physician Review Process
Every clinical article, drug monograph, lab test guide, and metabolic protocol undergoes a structured review pipeline before publication:
Written exclusively by credentialed health practitioners, clinical dietitians, or medical researchers with subject-matter expertise.
Reviewed by an independent, board-certified physician (MD or PhD) specializing in endocrinology, cardiology, or metabolic medicine.
Every scientific claim is cross-referenced against peer-reviewed human clinical trials indexed on PubMed and Cochrane Library.
Articles are re-audited annually or immediately when new clinical guidelines (ADA, AHA, Endocrine Society) emerge.
Primary Citation & Sourcing Hierarchy
We reject secondary wellness blog commentary. Our medical citations must satisfy our strict hierarchy of clinical evidence:
- Tier 1: Systematic Reviews & Meta-Analyses of randomized controlled trials (e.g. Cochrane Reviews, Lancet, JAMA).
- Tier 2: Peer-Reviewed Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) evaluating human metabolic outcomes.
- Tier 3: Consensus Guidelines issued by recognized medical societies (American Diabetes Association, Endocrine Society, American College of Cardiology).
- Tier 4: Mechanistic Pre-Clinical Studies clearly disclosed as animal or in vitro research rather than established human therapy.
Commercial Independence & No Sponsored Claims
Fatloss maintains absolute editorial independence. Pharmaceutical companies, supplement brands, and clinic operators have no input into our editorial choices, medical reviews, or testing guides. We do not accept payment to publish favorable reviews of any drug, supplement, or diet protocol.
Corrections & Feedback Policy
Scientific understanding evolves. When new consensus emerges or if a factual error is discovered, our editorial team immediately updates the content with a public timestamp and revision notice. Readers and clinicians can submit feedback directly to editorial@fatloss.com.
